Jared and Modern Day OptX to the Rescue!

I’ve been meaning to post this #THANKYOU for exemplary customer service to Jared, optician and co-owner of #ModernDayOptX on the Upper West Side…but I got sidetracked by the Presidential Election.

I accidentally sat on my beautiful, TOM FORD #sunglasses when I was at the beach this summer. I was crushed! I loved those sunglasses. I brought the mangled pair back to the store where I purchased them and they couldn’t repair it, and said that my Tom Ford sunglasses had been discontinued.

I searched #Yelp to find a sunglass repair shop and went to Modern Day OptX (463 Amsterdam) because of their #5 #Star #Ratings and rave reviews. Jared at Modern Day OptX said he’d try to fix it himself at no charge and, if he couldn’t, he had a repairman who handled more advanced repairs. I left my sunglasses and Jared called me a few days later to say he was unable to fix my glasses himself and his repair guy was now trying to see if he could. We discussed whether I would be ok with replacement arms that were similar to but not the exact ones on my sunglasses. I said, yes.

Jared called me back a week later to say his repairman tried and wasn’t able to fix my sunglasses after all. When he tried to replace the arms, my already-broken glasses broke even more. He returned the baggie with my further broken sunglasses.

Modern OptX is also a Tom Ford retailer and Jared had searched the database to see if they still had a pair of my sunglasses. The line had been discontinued but Jared spoke to someone at Tom Ford who said he’d check to see if there was still a pair somewhere in the system. Success! Jared called me to say they found one pair of my sunglasses and did I want it?

Yes!!!

I picked up my replacement sunglasses about six weeks after I originally went to Jared. I couldn’t return earlier. I’m so grateful to Jared at Modern Day OptX for doing everything possible to return me to my Tom Ford sunglasses. Dr. Kim was amazing and spent quality time explaining, in detail, the condition of my eyes and how my progressive lenses work with my prescription.
